An Interview with Aoife Marie Sheridan

What inspired you to write Hunters?

Well it's on the front of the book as part of the Introduction but basically is what happened is my friend took me to a healer, and we talked about angels, demons, Heaven and Hell I was fascinated with what he was saying so it got me thinking, and the story Hunters just came to me.

When or at what age did you know you wanted to be a writer?

My first time to ever put pen to paper to write a book was in 2012 when I lost someone, never tried before but I always loved to read. Since I started in 2012 with Eden Forest, I just can't seem to stop.

What is the earliest age you remember reading your first book?

Very young but the ones that stick in my head was the ones my nana gave me, all mills and boon's but I just fell in love with them. : haven't read one in years but I always remember when I stayed with her, I would look forward to going to bed and reading.

What genre of books do you enjoy reading?

My favorites are paranormal/fantasy/romance. I will dabble a bit in contemporary romance but it's not my favorite.

What is your favorite book?

Well that's easy Poison study by Maria V. Snyder . I just love all her work and I am a huge fan.

You know I think we all have a favorite author. Who is your favorite author and why?

Once again Maria V. Snyder basically because all her work is amazing. Her world building drags me in, she has a way of describing places without over doing it, and yet I see them so clearly in my head. I also love her romance that she weaves into the story, it isn't up front but in the background but when two characters get together, no matter how small it just blows me away.

If you could travel back in time here on earth to any place or time. Where would you go and why?

I would say a world in its rawest form. For the simple reason of bringing it back to basics. To gather food to eat because you're hungry. To create only for shelter or protection. To laugh because it's funny. To cry because it's sad and to love because its real. No materials, no money. I love the idea in a world that's raw, that you see, you, and you can't hide behind a mask of makeup or a six foot wall. Its raw, it's pure.

When writing a book do you find that writing comes easy for you or is it a difficult task?

Very easy, as I only write when I have the time, so once I get in front of the laptop I can't stop. I have seventeen books I want to write and have started twelve.

Do you have any little fuzzy friends? Like a dog or a cat? Or any pets?

No pets. I had a fish once his name was pestro but he didn't survive long, so I never replaced him.

What is your "to die for", favorite food/foods to eat?

Beef lasagna is my favorite and for desert is meringue nest's with cream and strawberries.

Do you have any advice for anyone that would like to be an author?

I would say try and do your marketing first and promote your book way ahead in advance, if you love what you do, never give up.

About the Author:

 photo image007.jpg

Aoife Marie Sheridan has loved reading from a very young age, starting off with mills and boon's books, given to her by her grandmother, her love for romance grew, by the age of 14 she had read hundreds of them.

Aoife had a passion for writing poetry or in her eyes her journal entries. It was something she did throughout her teens and into her twenties. Aoife won first place for two of her poems and had them published at a young age of just nineteen. Realising she needed to get a real job (What writing isn't) she studied accountancy and qualified working in that field for many years, until her passion for reading returned and she found Maria V Snyder. Poison study one of her favourite books has been read and re-read countless times.

Aoife's first book Eden Forest (Part one of the Saskia Trilogy) came to be after a dream of a man and woman on a black horse jumping through a wall of fire and the idea of Saskia was born. Now with her first novel published and taking first place for Eden Forest with Writers Got Talent 2013, Aoife continues to write tales of fantasy and is currently working on her third book for the Saskia Trilogy amongst other new works.
