RecruitZ
Afterworld #1
by Karice Bolton
Genres: New Adult, Post-Apocalyptic

Synopsis:

Scientists are the new rock stars. The infection has been contained for nearly three months, and the world is celebrating. But humans are still dying. Rebekah Taylor has seen it firsthand. Her husband was killed right in front of her by the very creatures that humans were told they no longer had to fear.

Rebekah is determined to find out who is responsible for the death of her husband and the obvious cover-up. Fueled with revenge, she begins to find answers that lead to one frightening conclusion. The apocalypse might be over, but the battles are just beginning.

My Review: RecruitZ

I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

Rebekah Taylor and her husband Gavin were survivors of the zombie apocalypse. They were so happy that both of them had survived that they went home and just as they pulled up into their driveway zombies started attacking them or rather they were attacking Gavin and not Rebekah. She tried everything she could to save him but there wasn't anything she could do. The government was supposed to have had teams out searching for the undead and taking care of them. After the attack she knew there was something that wasn't just right about these zombies or that they were just different. Why did they only attack Gavin and not her?

Rebekah tried telling her friends about how the zombies acted and how focused they were on what they were doing but no one would listen to her. They thought she was having a hard time dealing with the death of her husband. They thought she was crazy. Rebekah learned real quick like to keep her mouth shut before they had her committed. But Rebekah knew she wasn't crazy and she was very determined to find out the truth behind these new, different zombies.

When Rebekah starts investigating the zombie attacks and trying to find the truth behind these new zombies and who is creating them and why. She meets Preston on one of her trips investing a tip she has on the zombies. She is not sure if she can trust him or not but hopefully he can prove himself to be trust worthy. She can't be the only one left that knows about the new zombies and will fight for what is right.

Rebekah is on tough chic that can kicka$$ with the best of them and can probably handle herself in most any situation but we all need a little help or a friend once in a while. And what better help than a hottie like Preston. Everybody needs a little romance in their lives sometimes. I love zombie books and a little romance thrown in is ok but too much romance and it is not a zombie book anymore. RecruitZ has just the right amount of romance just enough to show that the characters have feelings but is not overbearing.

If you like reading or watching zombies then you are going to love RecruitZ it is an amazing story with all the new zombies. It is action packed with so many turns that you will end up dizzy if you are not careful. Come along for the ride that Karice Bolton takes you on with Rebekah and Preston and all the zombies. You will be amazed! Oh I have done said that haven't I?

AlibiZ
Afterworld #2
by Karice Bolton
Genres: New Adult, Post-Apocalyptic

Synopsis:

The outbreak might be over, but the nightmare is just beginning...

Rebekah vows to expose the truth behind the RecruitZ that are killing the innocents. These creatures must be stopped, but so should the people controlling them. When Rebekah uncovers who is behind the uprisings, her own life becomes in danger.

Rebekah knows that she is not alone in this fight but vengeance alone won't help her and the others to victory. It is up to her to uncover the truth for the public before the world is turned over to an elite few.

Regardless of what may happen to her, she knows it's a race against time to destroy these creatures and the monsters controlling them before there is no one left worth saving.

My Review: AlibiZ

I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

Rebekah is back and she is determined to tell the world the truth behind the RecruitZ and who is charge of them. She will expose the truth if it is the last thing she ever does. She will stop the monsters that are turning innocents into zombies and are trying to take over the world. Rebekah and Preston are on the run and hiding from the monsters that created these new zombies. They have met a lot of new people that want the same thing they want to stop the monsters. They have gathered together to come up with a plan to stop them before it is too late. What they are doing is wrong and inhumane.

Rebekah and Preston travel down some hard roads in AlibiZ. Preston will do everything in his power to keep Rebekah alive. Rebekah will put her own life in danger if it means she can save her friends. They face a lot of heart ache and almost lose a dear friend of theirs along the way. But that doesn't stop them it just makes them stronger and more able to do what they have to do to make the world a safe place to live for humans again.

I love Preston's way of talking to Rebekah when they find their selves in some situations. Rebekah is trying real hard but she still feels guilty about her husband. She still loves him very much and is still grieving for him. Preston is so nice and sweet to stay with her and want to keep her safe even though he knows she may never be able to show him that she loves him. Maybe she doesn't know her self what it is she is truly feeling. Hopefully one day she will be able to open up heart and let Preston in. Probably after she forgives herself for her husband dying and she didn't.

I loved all the characters in AlibiZ and really hope to read more of their stories in future books of the Afterworld Series. I would love to know more about Rebekah's friend Abby. Abby and Rebekah were friends before the zombie outbreak. What is her story? What happened to her and her boyfriend when they helped Rebekah and Preston? Did they take them away and lock them up? Are they still free, alive and living in the Afterworld? I can't wait until the next book in the Afterworld Series. I want to know more about Preston, Rebekah, Abby and the rest of the characters. If you love zombies and have not read AlibiZ or RecruitZ then I really think you should start reading them today.

Great reviews, Nancy! I love the sounds of this series and especially how character driven it is. Those always make the best post-apocalyptic stories. I also like the sounds of Rebekah already she's def my kind of heroine! :)

Thanks Giselle. Rebekah is one tough lady. She is also very independent and determined woman. If she believes in something or someone she is not afraid to stand up and say her piece.
