Blog Tour + #Giveaway: Angles by Erin Lockwood @anglestrilogy @XpressoTours

Angles – Part I
Erin Lockwood
Publication date: November 3rd 2016
Genres: New Adult, Romance

A compelling love story about Caralee, her best friend Teddy, and her new love interest, Sam. The intensity of Sam entering into Cara’s life challenges her friendship with Teddy – which was forged long ago when they encountered a deranged gunman. Teddy will stop at nothing to protect Cara – even if it means keeping his long time business associate and once best friend far away from her.

This story is about friendship and relationship triangles, love and protection, love and understanding, and love and true love.

Interview with Erin Lockwood

What inspired you to write Angles - Part I?
I first wrote Angles as a short story for my husband highlighting all the crazy things that happened at the beginning of our love story. I discovered how much I loved to write and I had this urge to embellish and go crazy with my imagination. With the short story, I held myself back and stuck to the facts. But when I was done I saw that it would make a wonderful contemporary romance, except there wasn’t enough drama, antagonists and the characters weren’t flawed enough. So I rewrote it and it grew to three times its size. I added antagonists, new controversies, new characters and I changed the character profile for the main characters. What I got in the end was a drama packed novel.
Can you tell us a little bit about the next books in the Angles Trilogy or what you have planned for the future?
I’m working on three manuscripts right now and Angles - Part II is one of them. I plan for it to be released August 1st later this year. The story will pick up where it left off with Sam and Cara. Their relationship will develop and there will be a lot of secrets uncovered about Sam and Teddy’s past.
Can you tell us a little bit about the characters in Angles - Part I?
Almost all of the book is told from Cara’s perspective. She is by far a flawed damsel in distress, but I felt as if her character is very relatable for twenty somethings. Nobody is perfect at that age! She has anxiety issues born from a traumatizing experience she and Teddy shared years ago. It affected her so deeply it's debilitated her to some degree, and she relies on Teddy - maybe to an unhealthy level. Teddy is a great friend but maybe too good of a friend. He just got married to Anna and should be focused on starting his married life with her, but instead he seems to care more about what’s going on with Cara. Sam is a very strong male lead character. He is gorgeous, strong and protective. He’s a brilliant business man and he only has eyes for Cara. He’s patient but always calculated and in control. The chemistry between Sam and Cara are off the charts!
You know I think we all have a favorite author. Who is your favorite author and why?
I love so many of Katy Evan’s books, I think I love ALL of Colleen Hoover’s, but my favorite is probably Jamie McGuire. For starters, Beautiful Disaster is my favorite contemporary romance. I could read it over and over. It has all the elements I love about a novel. I think what I love most about Jamie is her generosity to help those who haven’t made it yet. Not everyone who has success feels compelled to share their secrets and help others. That’s something I think is very special about her.
If you could time-travel would you travel to the future or the past?
The future! My husband makes the future sound so great. He gets so excited about technology and the benefits of the
singularity, space travel, self driving cars, living forever, etc. I’ll go anywhere with him, and I’m positive he would go to the future :)
Do you have any little fuzzy friends? Like a dog or a cat? Or any pets?
We do!!! This past November we got a little teacup yorkie. Her name is Libby and we all love her so much. She’s not even four pound s and so full of love and kisses. I’m one of those dog moms, I put bows in her hair and carry her everywhere :P
Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to visit with us today.

Author Bio:
Erin Lockwood grew up in Castro Valley, California and attended the University of Oregon, where she graduated in 2003 with a degree in journalism. From there she moved to Denver and spent the next seven years searching for the love of her life and building the family of her dreams.
It wasn’t long until, with children starting preschool and more time on her hands, Erin refocused on her career, beginning with a successful entry into the world of residential real estate as a Realtor. Free time was spent reading book after book (and binge-watching the subsequent films) in the New Adult genre. Feeling hopelessly in love with her husband, she wrote him a short story leading up to their fifth wedding anniversary. That’s when she discovered her tireless passion to share her experience of falling in love through fictional characters. That story evolved into the first novel in the Angles trilogy.
Erin still lives in Denver, Colorado with her husband, Phil, and their three children.
